Forsyth Barr Short Story Competition

The Cambridge Autumn Festival Trust is delighted to announce that the Cambridge Autumn Festival 2012 will include the inaugural Forsyth Barr Short Story Competition. Entry for the competition opens 16 November 2011 and the closing date is 31 January 2012, with winners announced during the Autumn Festival 21-25 March 2012.

Cambridge Autumn Festival Trustee Alan Milton said, "Having a short story competition is a perfect complement to the festival events. We want to encourage budding writers and we hope that this will be the start of an annual competition, with a different theme each year."

Forsyth Barr Cambridge Manager and Investment Advisor Michelle Rolley said, "As a New Zealand owned firm providing a full range of investment services including sharebroking, portfolio management, research and investment banking, Forsyth Barr has always sought to provide meaningful and relevant support back into New Zealand communities. From sports to the arts, we are proud to be actively involved in a wide range of local community events, and contributing back to the people who live and work there. We are pleased to be able to support the Cambridge Autumn Festival by sponsoring the Forsyth Barr Short Story Competition."

The theme for the short story competition this year is 'autumn', and the organisers are looking forward to stories that will add to the celebration and experience of autumn. The overall winner will receive the first prize of $1000 and their story published in the Cambridge Edition, while second prize is $500 and third prize $250. Each entry must be accompanied by the official entry form, which is in this month's Urban and Country or downloaded from here:
